We received a contact form via the website last month and I wanted to share what they had to say and our response. I think it definitely covers the concerns that many of the locals have about us going completely vegan. It was never our intention to alienate anyone and we hope that perhaps everyone in Lady Bay will try us once to see what we're about and hopefully be pleasantly surprised! |
After a really successful vegan for Veganuary we decided to roll out a full vegan menu and stay 100% plant based and we're loving it! We have met so many new customers who are making the special trip over to Lady Bay to see what we're about and to try our great vegan food. We are super proud of our menu and we hope that those who are trying it are enjoying it too. We've tried to provide a good mix of healthy, plant based dishes and also some meat alternative dishes too so that there is something for everyone. By going vegan we did not want to exclude meat eaters but to show them that vegan food can be delicious and a way to reduce meat intake. Although we have met lots of new, lovely customers we have, unfortunately, lost a few local customers. Some do not understand why we have made the decision to go 100% vegan and why we could not have kept meat on the menu like we had before. Well, both Linsey and Lisa have been vegan for about 4 years and it has been an important, although perhaps risky, move to align their business with their own beliefs. I must add that we have had some super support from locals who love the menu and are really excited about the alternative we are offering in Lady Bay. We hope that by word of mouth we will win over a lot more people with our delicious vegan food and cake!
